LoopDelay.NET
Allows you to add a Delay
or High Resolution Sleep
to Loop Conditions
, removing them from the body.
You can optionally add an Expire Time
to prevent infinite loops with the option to run an ExpireAction
.
using LoopDelay.NET;
High Resolution Sleep (Fastest)
Parameter | Type | Usage |
---|---|---|
delayMs | uint |
How long the loop should be delayed for in Milliseconds |
startTicks | long |
(optional) (UTC) The time the loop started as Ticks |
expireMs | uint |
(optional) When the loop should expire in Milliseconds |
OnExpireAction | Action |
(optional) Action to Run as a Task if the Loop Expires , not if you manually break the Loop |
while (await Loops.Sleep(delayMs))
{
// Only Your Code Inside the Loop
break;
}
or
var startTicks = DateTime.UtcNow.Ticks;
while (await Loops.Sleep(startTicks, delayMs, expireMs))
{
// Only Your Code Inside the Loop
break;
}
or
while (await Loops.Sleep(startTicks, delayMs, expireMs, () => { Console.WriteLine("Expired"); }))
{
// Only Your Code Inside the Loop
break;
}
Simple Delay (Faster)
Parameter | Type | Usage |
---|---|---|
delayMs | int |
How long the loop should be delayed for in Milliseconds |
startTicks | long |
(optional) (UTC) The time the loop started as Ticks |
expireMs | int |
(optional) When the loop should expire in Milliseconds |
OnExpireAction | Action |
(optional) Action to Run as a Task if the Loop Expires , not if you manually break the Loop |
var startTicks = DateTime.UtcNow.Ticks;
while (await Loops.Delay(startTicks, delayMs, expireMs))
{
// Only Your Code Inside the Loop
break;
}
Strongly Typed Delay (Slower)
Parameter | Type | Usage |
---|---|---|
delayTimeSpan | TimeSpan |
How long the loop should be delayed for as a TimeSpan |
startTime | DateTime |
(optional) (UTC) The time the loop started as a DateTime |
expireTimeSpan | TimeSpan |
(optional) When the loop should expire as a TimeSpan |
OnExpireAction | Action |
(optional) Action to Run as a Task if the Loop Expires , not if you manually break the Loop |
var startTime = DateTime.UtcNow;
while (await Loops.Delay(startTime, delayTimeSpan, expireTimeSpan))
{
// Only Your Code Inside the Loop
break;
}
While Conditions
You can add a condition to the while statement like you usually would or you can put it in the body; or both.
var startTime = DateTime.UtcNow;
while (Condition && await Loops.Delay(startTime, delayTimeSpan, expireTimeSpan))
{
if (Condition) { break; }
// Only Your Code Inside the Loop
break;
}
Await or .Result()
while (await Loops.Delay(startTime, delayTimeSpan, expireTimeSpan))
or
while (Loops.Delay(startTime, delayTimeSpan, expireTimeSpan).Result)
Notes
Start time/ticks should use DateTime.UtcNow
