BV.Abstractions

The library contains abstractions of .Net Framework known system types. It also contains the wrapper implementations over the mentioned types for these abstractions. The aim is to have the abstraction over the access to physical resources like the file system, to achieve better test ability and mocking possibility.

Already implemented abstractions:

• IDirectory
• IDirectoryInfo
• IFile
• IFileInfo
• IFileSystemInfo and the corresponding wrappers.

The interfaces are public. Public is also a parameter-less extension method AddAbstractionsOfSystemIO for IServiceCollection of the Microsoft.Extension.DependencyInjection nuget package. The method registers the wrappers containing .Net Framework implementations. If you need more information about registering for dependency injection see microsoft documentation.

Usage

Use directly the interfaces to provide mock implementations for testing concerns.

Use the mentioned extension method to register the standard .Net Framework implementations, like:

public void ConfigureServices(IServiceCollection services)
{
    ...
    services.AddAbstractionsOfSystemIO();
    ...
}
